The historic Cash & Carry building has an exciting new mission that builds on its reputation as the go-to choice for special events of all sizes and scales.

Tanner Pearson, Josê Portillo, and Roderick Stutes are the creative forces of the newly created Cheers Event Services LLC — a joint venture dedicated to delivering exceptional event and bar experiences at the iconic Cash & Carry Building, located at 801 Enterprise Boulevard in Lake Charles.

Cheers Event Services manages venue leasing and provides premium bar services at the versatile downtown facility.

Historic Cash & Carry Building c. 1936

The popular Cash & Carry Building is a faithfully restored, 9,600-square-foot downtown warehouse built in the 1930s for what has been described as a “Sam’s Club of yesteryear” for small grocery businesses. Designed by Dunn & Quinn—well-known architects who designed nearly 2,000 schools, banks, churches, and public facilities—its original plans called for a sturdy, utilitarian building featuring a clerestory (skylight) for light and ventilation. Those same features — with a kitchen, outdoor area, and other amenities now part of the facility — make Cash & Carry a perfect, rustic-elegance venue for a wide variety of special events.
